Jokers Deuces Wild Strategy
Deuces Wild Video Poker considers all deuces as wild cards.
This treats the ‘2’ as any card a player chooses
it to be, regardless of its suit or face value. In this type
of Video Poker, a player has an improved chance of getting
good hands. However, the casino counters this with a tighter
schedule of payout. A player gets paid if he has a three of
a kind or better, at the very least.
The fundamental point to remember when considering Deuces
Wild or jokers strategy, is that the four two's, (deuces),
can be substituted for ANY other card in the deck. It's what
makes deuces wild video poker such a fun game to play.
The Ranking for the Hands - Starting with the Highest Are:
1. Five of a Kind
2. Royal Flush
3. Straight Flush
4. Four of a Kind
5. Full House
6. Flush
7. Straight
8. Three of a Kind
9. Two Pair
10. A Pair
Note: Five of a Kind is only possible when using a Joker
or Wild Cards and is the highest possible hand.
Basic Deuces Wild Strategy for the Standard Game:
Four Deuces - Hold all five cards, you can't improve this
hand.
Three Deuces - Keep a wild royal flush and five-of-a-kind.
Otherwise, hold the deuces only.
Two Deuces - Keep any hand that's four-of-a-kind or better.
Keep any four cards to a royal flush, or you should just keep
the two deuces.
One Deuce - Keep all paying hands, with the exception of
four cards to a royal flush. Keep four cards to a straight
flush, three cards to a royal flush. Otherwise, keep the deuce
only.
No Deuce:
Keep all paying hands, except hold four cards to a royal
flush, instead of a lesser paying hand.
Keep a four-card straight flush.
Keep a three-card to a royal flush.
Keep any one pair (keep two pair only if full house pays
the same as four-of-a-kind).
Keep a four-card flush.
Keep a consecutive four-card straight.
Keep three cards to a straight flush.
Keep any two of 10, J, Q, or K, if they're in the same suit.
If you don't hold any of the above combinations then draw
five new cards.
Keep
in mind
Always play the maximum coins per game, as the payout for
five coins played is far greater than five times the payout
for one coin.
Play at deuces Wild machines that offer full-pay Deuces Wild.
This means the pay schedules of 9/5 (9 coins for a straight
flush and 5 for 4 of a kind under the one coin payout schedule)
There are other pay schedules but they reduce your chances
of winning so when playing deuces wild stick with the high
paying machines.
